Issue No. 1 - Kissing Frogs

Issue No. 1 - Kissing Frogs

Hi, I’m Susan, and I run LotusTravelEssentials.co.uk , the quality on-line department store for all your travel needs.

I love travelling and find myself being constantly frustrated by the time it takes to find good quality travel related items on-line and I’m pretty certain that I’m not the only one.  One day, I thought, what if I look for the very best travel related items and bring them together under one roof?  Until then, I felt that shopping for my holidays was a bit like kissing frogs - you have to kiss a lot before you find your prince!

When I feature a product on Lotus Travel Essentials I ask myself:

Is it good quality? – I find that quality  products last a life time and that buying cheaper less sturdy products can sometimes be a false economy, that’s why I always look for the best quality products to feature on my website.  A great example of this is The Swiss Travel World Adapter which covers an incredible 150 countries.

Is it unusual or clever in design?  – Most of the time we want to have something a little different from the next person, or something  that other people haven’t yet discovered.  I'm constantly looking at new and innovative products and design so that I can bring them altogether under one roof for you.   A great example of this is our featured GoCodes Smart QR Bar Code Luggage Tags which allows the person who finds your lost luggage to scan the GoCode with a smart phone or to enter the code on the GoCode website and then you get a text message to say that your luggage has been found, how cool is that?

Will this save you time? -
Just think about the things that you typically pack  for a beach holiday; chances are that you have purchased clothes from a boutique, your suntan lotion from the chemist, your flip flops from a shoe shop, luggage from a department store and the list goes on.  I aim to save you time by allowing you to click on the type of journey you are going on and everything you need for that type of holiday/journey taking and everything should be there at your fingertips.  Take a look at the products we feature on Diving, Skiing and Business for example.

I can’t think of another online shop that brings all this together in one place.

Anyway, enough about kissing frogs, you probably want to know what I’ve got planned for this blog and what I aim to do over the coming weeks and months.  What I want to do is to build a library of travel information and inspiration by focussing on a different aspect of travel each week.  Here’s the rota I aim to follow:

The first week of every month: Where Next?

This will feature some inspirational ideas on where in the world to go in the coming month, so the November edition will feature where to go in December and so on.  I hope that you will also contribute to this, by suggesting your own ideas.

The second week of every month: Country by Country

This will focus on a single country, and give some essential facts that you might like to know.  Again, you may well know some important facts about the country being featured and I hope that you will contribute.

The third week of every month: Holiday in Focus

This will focus on a single resort, region or type of holiday.  I know that a resort can feel very different at different times of the year, here is where your knowledge can contribute to the discussion.

The fourth week of every month: What’s hot?

This might feature a particular travel item, such as luggage, beach towels or cameras or just give a rundown of the biggest sellers from the Lotus Travel Essentials site.  Again, you can comment on what you thought of your particular purchases too.

The fifth week of the month (if there is one):  Readers Choice

This will be a travel related item suggested by a reader, or even partly or wholly written by them on any aspect of travel that they choose.  So, if you’re a budding author, getting writing now.

Thanks for reading, see you next week and in the meantime, I hope that you can take the time to check out LotusTravelEssentials.co.uk happy & safe travelling.
